Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation Members are happiest when we can put our dollars and muscles in to action where we live and work, right here in Arizona.

Homeward Bound has provided a wonderful opportunity to do just that. Their focus on helping Phoenix, Arizona homeless families with not just housing, but by targeting parents and children with individualized programs designed to break the cycle of poverty, makes them a natural partner for anyone who understands the importance of a real home.

Of the 36,000 homeless people struggling in Arizona, 33%, (over 11,000) of these are families. An average of 130+ of these families are served annually by Homeward Bound. 76% of the families who have successfully completed their programs have been able to secure stable housing, and are now contributing to their own communities.

Homeward Bound accomplishes this all through sponsorship, direct and in kind donations, partnered with great staff and volunteers. Like many worthy organizations, they do not receive government assistance, and rely solely on the continuing support of their donors. Because of their successes, and commitment to our neighborhood families, Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation agreed to be a $10,000 Signature Sponsor for Homeward Bound’s inaugural Rooftop Event in 2019. Our thanks to event organizer, and VCorps member Patty Sapp for bringing this deserving organization to our attention.
