You can send a child in foster care “Back to School Ready!”
We are collecting backpacks and school supplies for Arizona Helping Hands’ Back to School Program.
Arizona Helping Hands has an annual event to provide support to children in foster care and their families before the start of the new school year. Because children in foster care typically leave their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs, a new backpack with school supplies may be needed at any time throughout the year. Knowing these items are essential for a child’s academic success, Arizona Helping Hands expanded the annual Back to School Drive from an event to a year-round program.
We are also accepting monetary donations for this event!
A brand new, fully stocked backpack helps children in foster care feel comfortable and confident! A brand new backpack is a right of passage every child should enjoy on the first day of school. Your donation of $35 or more, will provide a child in foster care with a new backpack full of school supplies. More importantly, it will create confidence that can last a lifetime.

Volunteer with us on July 13th and 14th
The kids will pick an empty backpack, and supplies will be organized separately at Arizona Helping Hands by grade levels for the kids to pick up. The event itself is when that student will be picking up backpacks and supplies at the Arizona Helping Hands location. There will be tables for backpacks, supplies for each grade level, and our own Russ Lyon Foundation table.
