Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation Hosts Shred-a-Thon and Canned Food Drive

The Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty West Valley Q2 V-corps project was a shred-a-thon and canned food drive benefitting Saint Mary’s Food Bank. Big turn out, long car lines and plenty of food for Saint Mary’s Food Bank to pick up!

Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation Hosts a Fun Drive in the Southeast Valley

The Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty Southeast Valley office Q1 v-corps project was a Fun Drive collecting items for Savors. Items were collected throughout the February and on March 6, 2021, individuals were asked to bring their items to the Southeast Valley office parking lot to be loaded up and sent to Savors. Savors paid a percentage for apparel contributed and per item for the big ticket items like bicycles. All proceeds from the Fun Drive went to Lighthouse for Hope. $1,000 was the goal and $1,000 is what was met!

February 2021 - The Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty Tucson v-corps team worked in the warehouse with the GRM team to prep for the upcoming Easter drive through event. They put together boxes, assorted different types of foods, stacked them on crates, assisted with cleaning up outside in their lunchroom.

Russ Lyon SIR Recognized by Phoenix Business Journal For Significant 2019 Arizona Charitable Contributions

The Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation, a subsidiary of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, is proud to be recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal for its notable monetary contributions and impressive volunteer programs from 2019.

For more than 70 years the agents and employees of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty have been involved in community service work and charitable organizations throughout Arizona. Inspired by the generosity and service work of numerous agents, the Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation was formed in 2014 and operates through every office within the company and across Arizona. The Foundation’s Board of Directors includes nine members with an Advisory Council comprised of representatives from each Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty office. 

The Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation was ranked #13 for the Largest Phoenix-Area Corporate Volunteer Programs with over 3,750 volunteer hours in 2019, which included the volunteer hours by sales associates and employees during various charitable activities.   

One of the primary goals of the Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation is to provide valuable and meaningful service work within Arizona communities, as well as charitable investments. Within each Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty office there is a team of Volunteer Corps also known as V-Corps. V-Corps are comprised of agents, employees and management that volunteer their time together to provide help for those in need. Over the past six years, Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty agents have volunteered hundreds of hours to communities across Arizona.

The Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation was also ranked #21 for the Largest Phoenix-Area Corporate Philanthropists, contributing over $108,000 to Arizona charities in 2019.

Since the Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation began more than $500,000 in donations have gone to dozens of 501c3 Arizona-based charitable organizations through direct donations, service work, sponsorships, matching funds and fundraisers. 100 percent of Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation’s donations and charitable investments are directed to charitable organizations.

Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation Adopts 3 Families for the Holidays

Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty Tucson office Adopted 3 families in Southern Arizona for their 2020 Q4 V-Corps project.

Monetary contributions were made towards the project where all 3 family wishlists were fulfilled and additional dollars not spent went towards gift cards for the family.

Big shout out to the Real Estate Advisors who shopped, wrapped gifts and were Santa’s little helpers for delivery: Jennie Jantz, Dawn Jacobs, Teenu Habbar, Kate Herk, Penny Bernal, Christina Tierney and Aunesty Jantz.

Jeff Fields win National Award for Preventing Teen Suicide

The National Association of Realtors® today announced Jeff Fields, with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty in Scottsdale, as one its five 2020 Good Neighbor Award winners. As a volunteer and past board president of nonprofit Teen Lifeline, Fields has served more than 28,000 youth through a peer-to-peer teen crisis hotline while providing community education on suicide prevention.

NAR’s Good Neighbor Awards honor 10 Realtors® annually for making an extraordinary impact on their communities through volunteer work. Over the past 21 years, the Good Neighbor Awards program has awarded nearly $1.4 million in grants to more than 200 Realtor®-led nonprofits. Their impact has been felt in 40 states, 15 countries and in Puerto Rico. 

Our Good Neighbor Award winners leave a remarkable impact on their communities every year, but everything these Realtors® have done in 2020 is even more impressive and more commendable. I am proud to honor Jeff Fields for dedicating his time and passion to giving hope to teens who had none.”

With the award, Fields will receive a $10,000 grant for his charity and will be featured in the November-December issue of Realtor® Magazine. Ten finalists recognized for continued impact in their communities despite pandemic-induced challenges

The National Association of Realtors ® Good Neighbor Awards is one of the most prestigious real estate awards in the nation that recognizes Realtors ® who’ve made an extraordinary commitment to improving their communities through volunteer service. It’s no surprise that Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty agent Jeff Fields has been selected as a top 10 finalist for its 2020 Good Neighbor Award. 

This is the 21st year the Good Neighbor Awards have recognized Realtor ® volunteers who donate time, money and passion to enrich the lives of people in their communities. In the coming weeks, five winners will be selected by a multi-stage, criteria-based judging process. Winners will receive a $10,000 grant and national media exposure for their community charity, including a feature in the November/December issue of REALTOR® Magazine. 

The winners will also be recognized at the virtual REALTORS® Conference & Expo this November, while five honorable mention selections will receive a $2,500 grant for their respective nonprofit organizations.

After losing several friends to suicide by the time he was 21, Jeff Fields has been committed to saving teens from what he calls “the most preventable death.” Seeking to turn tragedy into hope for other, Fields got involved with Teen Lifelines, a statewide nonprofit that provides life-saving resources to more than 28,000 teens struggling with suicidal thoughts while providing community education and prevention. He has served as board president of Teen Lifeline. Individually, Fields has been a highly successful fundraiser for Teen Lifeline, calling upon the generosity of some of his real estate clients. 

Jeff puts his heart and soul into everything he does, including Teen Lifeline. His enthusiasm, intellect and influence make him a real asset to organizations fortunate enough to have him involved, including Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty. Scottsdale Realtor® Gil Gillenwater, the brother of Russ Lyon Charitable Foundation Founder and Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty CEO odd Gillenwater, was recognized in 2000 as one of the original Good Neighbor Award winners. Gillenwater founded the Rancho Feliz Charitable Foundation after visiting Agua Prieta and has spent the past 32 years raising and investing over $10 million to build homes, education centers and orphanages.

The public is invited to weigh in on the 10 finalists at realtor.com/goodneighbor between September 2 and October 2, as a $2,500 award will go to the top vote-getter and the second and third place winners will each earn $1,250. These ‘Web Choice Favorites’ along with the five judged winners will be announced on October 6.
